Super Sew-er

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for... The finished dress!!! It was my first attempt at following a sewing pattern in almost 10 years, and I think that it turned out pretty well if I do say so myself. I took it on a test run to the pet store yesterday, and the moment I stepped into the store, the saleslady asked me where I got it. Of course I said, "Why I made it." To which she replied, "Wow, it looks so nice." During check out we discussed the dress making more, and I had to admit I felt very proud. I was almost disappointed when no one commented at my next stop, the student bookstore. Well, I can't take all the credit myself. I can barely even thread my sewing machine. My poor grandmother had to answer several questions throughout the process (some rediculously simple) and without her I wouldn't be wearing the dress today. By the way, the photos were taken with my new digital camera that came in the mail this week! Anyway, here are some different views of the now infamous red and white dress.

From the front on my back porch

Ah the skirt... looking up towards the heavens (on my front porch)

And of course the back of the dress. I'm leaning over so you can see the halter around my neck.

Looks like a great job to me!!!
Just don't forget to wear sunblock on your back. Your grandma must be a great teacher or could it be you are a great student?
